The Vesting of the Hierarch before the Divine Liturgy.
During the chanting of the Troparia for the Feast, the candidate to be tonsured is escorted into the Nave wearing his baptismal garment, to remind us that the monastic tonsure is a second baptism.
In the center of the Cathedral, the postulant makes four prostrations, one towards the east, north, south, and west.
Finally, the postulant prostrates before the icon of Christ the Almighty on the iconostasion.
Then commences the questioning of intent, and the vows of the monastic life.
The tonsuring, where the monastic name is given to the new monk.

After Father Andrew was clothed in all the garments of the monk, he remained standing before the icon of the Lord throughout the Divine Liturgy in prayer.
At the end of the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy, all the faithful in turn kiss the Cross and greet the newly tonsured monk, asking him, "What is thy name brother?" And the newly tonsured replies, "Andrew, monk!" And then each person wishes the newly tonsured a particular blessing, whatever appropriate wish comes to mind.
